Sure, you love drinking beer. But as a self-proclaimed beer aficionado, did you know that there was a holiday entitled New Beer’s Eve? Don’t consider yourself a true pro until you have finished reading this article.
While New Beer’s Day is not a national holiday – it should be! – it is an unofficial one that people love to celebrate. It falls every year on April 7th and is celebrated by drinking copious amounts of, you guessed it, beer. The holiday has its roots in the Prohibition. The end of the Prohibition came when President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Cullen-Harrison Act, which effectively ended the dry period in America. The sale of beer became legal once again on April 7, 1933, as long as each state had also passed laws allowing for the sale of beer.
Beer could be sold as long as it had an alcohol content of less than 3.2 percent. Anything greater than 3.2 percent was said to bring about intoxication, something that the government was not prepared to unleash just yet. People waited outside of taverns and other beer providers on the night of April 6 in order to get their first sweet taste of beer legally for the first time in over 13 years. So how should you celebrate New Beer’s Eve? Take a look at these fun promotional beer products that you will want to use all year long:
